Dear family,
This week was weird. Just weird things keep happening and then on Sunday an elder in my zone, well two of them, got hit by a car and yesterday Elder Knoop died. That’s weird, ya know! They were hit by some teenagers. There is speculation that they did it on purpose. I think they were just slobbering drunk like the rest of the world on the weekend and are dumb. But what do I know.
I have no doubt that he died only because the Lord wanted it to happen. But some times it sort of makes you think, I don’t know, how anyone can think this church not true. We are out here giving this time in our life (and some times our life) just to declare this great gospel!!!!!
Life is good other then that.
Last week, well it was weird, mom and dad will get the letter explaining all the odd thing that happened this week. The best thing that happened is that we found Cid and his family. They are wonderful and I probably will not see them baptized. I feel like the blessings of this area all started last week because my comp is staying longer on her mission. I will most likely move next week but I will not know until next Monday. I am sort of nervous for a new comp because well, she is all I know and even when I am frustrated I am glad that she is my comp and I know that it could be worse, much, much, much worse!!!!
Well I think that is my letter for today. I am up loading photos for you all this week. I hope it works this week.☺ Um PARA BEMS JON, that is a big Brazilian congrats!!!! That is great that you got into Stanford. I want to come☺
OK, have a great week every one. Love you all more than words can express!! Love your Sister Felt

Chuva!!!
Oi! It's raining hear right now, that is cool!
This week was interesting to say the least. My companion got an email from her boyfriend saying that everything was ready for her to come home marry him. She didn't even know he was still her boyfriend because he had stopped writing her six months ago. So that made for an intresting week.
Funny side note! Mom saw Mama Mia last weekend and right now Abba's music playing in the internet cafe... funny! Anyway...
Back to my interesting week: Then president made a few new rules and his explanation is that we need to be humbled!
I think it's so we are humble for the new president! I'm not mad but the Elder's are all a little up in arms. Anyway, zone conference was good and cool.
This week in Sao Paulo there was a man that was on the news that has seven wife's and many kids and the news said he is a member of the "Mormon Church". This has made for some great questions,... even by the members. :) In Brazil there is a church called the "Mormon Church" that broke off from the LDS church. But most people don't know that, they just know we are "The Mormons" so that has been confusing for some.
I continue to lean a lot about myself and the gospel and, well,.... I think that is cool of myself and the gospel. :) Just kidding... well, I'm not kidding about needing to lean more humility!
I think that is it for this week. My life is good. I love the mission and can't wait for the day when I can speak Portuguese fluently... that will be great! I don't think the mission will be easer but it will be cooler! Anyway have a great day! I love you!

Suprise!!!
I know this is one day early. Today is Monday and P-day all at the same time... Intense HUH!!!
This also means I will give you all the benefit of the doubt that you really were going to write me an email but didn't get to it because you thought you had another day ;)
We have zone conference this week and so because President doesn't like a lot of Elders together with free time to "do whatever they want" we have P-day a day early. I'm not going to lie, this is better because tomorrow we will get a lot of work done!
So this last week was buzzzZy; we were trying to get all the same numbers in less time because of general conference. It was hard and we were almost successful... ish. Deborah was baptized and she is still great! Conference was great; I love the church and the way it gives me the support to be better! You know, it's interesting the way that your thinking changes when you're on a mission, or in a different stage of life, from one conference to the next!
So, today I was reminded of the pains that come from shopping with another woman. It's not bad if you are just looking, but my companion wants new ropas (clothes) for when she goes home. She kind of really cares about that stuff and so we set out, it's very difficult to explain the type of constrain that must be exerted for this task. She finely got a dress that was beautiful but really way too expensive.
I learn a few things:
• cloths are ugly hear, now I understand why everyone just wears a tank tops.
• I am not the same size as any Brazilian
• I will never, no never, no never will buy ANY clothing hear.
ok, I think that's all I learned. The rest were just reminders.
Oh something else I learned today.. To all my friends and family, I am not going to EVER be sending any of you a tape while I am on my mission. I received one from some friends and I thought oh, that will be cool to make one really fast and send it to them. So I talked to them while I cleaned my house and blah blah about everything I could think of and then I went to send it, found out it would cost $30. I don't know why every thing has to cost so much hear, but it does. So sorry, you may really want to hear my voice, but I promise, it will be the same when I come home.
Ok, well nothing new to report. I do love you all, you are all amazing... and I only reserve that word for really important things!!!!
Love you all Tchou!!!

April Fools
Dear Family.
This week has beed great, we found a golden contact. Ok, well,... she found us. She's one of the many, many, people that was taught when she was a teen and her mom said,. "no, you can't be baptized." On Thursday night at the church, she found us and was like, "What do I need to do to be baptized." She is amazing, she has been well prepared and is very smart, she came walking with us and she asked people to be baptized and everything. She is going to be great to the ward and to the kingdom of God. She's not all that we found last week but I don't have time to tell you about everyone.
My birthday was great, I made the brownies Chrisy sent me for Valentine's; I had saved them for my birthday. Then this morning I made German pancakes for me and my companion.
I have started to read the Bible--It's funny. I like it a lot, I really like Abraham he was like a supper hero. I ended today with Lot's wife turning in to salt--man talk about a lesson of perfect obedience! I need to do better!
My companion keeps reading about Paul, I was studding a bit with her. Paul kills me with all the things that he writes sometimes. I want to say:
cala sua boca Paul, woman are cool! (p.s. cala sua boca is the only rude thing I know how to say in Portuguese and I learned it from a 2 year old.
I was telling him that his prayer was really good and he said, "cala sua boca" (shut your mouth) to me. So now when I say it to my companion we always laugh about it.)
Yesterday for district meeting I gave the lesson for 20 min. It was really not very good but I was glad that our zone leaders were there for this principle of commitment keeping. Last week the zone leader told me and my companion that our job is just to baptize people and that the angels will take care of them after that. The point I tried to make in my 20 min. lesson was the importance of helping our investigators to establish a habit of keeping commitment. I shared Elder Holland's talks about how important commitments are because it prepares people to keep their covenants. So, I talked about the importance of this for our investigators to preserver to the end. I know this was really passive aggressive of me. I know the ZL is the Zone Leader but he is sort of astray if he really thinks that. Anyway, life is good to say the least. I know that every thing will work out if we keep working!
I love you all very much,
Have a great week,
Love your Sister Felt
