My first p-day

Oi! Friends and Family,

Hey, so it is my first p-day at the CTM (or MTC depends on who you are talking to). It is really so fun, I love it. We get to go out around Casa Verde on p-day, Pres. Carden told us that he wants us to spend most of p-day out of the MTC, not only so that we can get out of the monotony of the MTC but also so that we can get out and see Brazil and get used to living out here. It is sort of funny, we are only allowed to travel within a 5-block radius of the MTC so within that 5-blocks there are all these stores that sell CTM shirts and mission bags. This week we are at Mr. Chenys Cookies, we are allowed to use the internet for free and we get a free cookie because it is our first week. I think it’s way funny. As a district today we went out to eat and I had a burger that was the greasiest things that I have ever had. I think I might just die of heart disease. But, like the Elders told me, at least I will die happy.

It has sort of been a hard adjustment to life in the CTM. I am not sure how to put it into words but I think they are trying to cram my brain full of so many things that I am on overload all the time. But, I know that it’s all good and that it is going to all make sense someday. Like Pres. Carden said, he has seen thousands of missionaries come through and I will not be the first to not learn the language in the CTM, but I will learn the langue because all the other thousands have.

My companions name is Sister Thompson she is great and I love her. She is half black and so everyone thinks that she is Brazilian and that she can speak Portuguese, but she can’t, it puts her in funny situations all the time.

Today we went to the Campinas Temple it was beautiful!!! And I was grateful for the time to write some letters and to just sit and talk with my companion about anything but language stuff; she is really cool and very talented. The men that are in my district are great I am grateful for there fun loving attitude and the fun that we are able to have. Some times it can get sort of out of hand but it is no problem because during Mission Directed Study Time (aka MDST) SisT and I can go into a different room or go work on TALL (a language learning program).

I know that I am not so good with languages and that it is really just a blessing to get such smart and advanced people in my district, but it’s hard for me to see them to be doing so well and feel like I am behind. But it is good Tudo Bem !!!! I love it and know that I am doing what I am suppose to be doing.

Mission Again

Ok so I know that this is like all that I post about but it is what I am faced with all the time so if you are sick of it just don’t read my blog I am ok with that.

I changed my background so that it is more mission appropriate.
I will try to post my letters to you all this way, so that you can just read the blog and know what is going on and if you want to comment that is fine I don’t really know what the rules are but I will try to keep you all informed of what is going on.

In a few hours I will be 9 days away from leaving on my mission, that is rock’en. I have been thronged with ever emotion that could possible be associated with this type of transition. Most of the time I find myself over come with joy, the time has finally come for me to go. Other time I find my self, terrified and dreading the task at hand.

Any way I just wanted to tell y’all that I love you and thank you for your love and support. I would like to thank all my friends that drove to Richfield to see me talk. And well for that mater my family but really they don’t really read this so I guess that someday I will just tell them if they are not getting a thank you note in the mail already. I am also extremely grateful to my brothers that were all there and their significant others and also the biggest thanks of all to my mom and dad.

My mom worked all week long, at great personal scarifies, to make the little shin dig/ Peay family Thanksgiving dinner possible. But her love does not stop in just her works but flows freely like always in her words. And my Dad is as always the most supportive man I know. He normally makes me figure things out on my own but he is always there to listen. I think that he just might be my number one fan. He came to hear me talk and was with the family for most of the day even though he was feeling extremely ill. And later than night he was able to give me so wonderful counsel. I love him, and I hope that someday I can find a man to be as good of a head of the household as my dad is.

Well it is late and I am done with the other stuff that I was doing so I think it is time for me to be going but I do want to say thanks to any one that read this, have a great day and smile.

Talk in Church before leaving on a Mission

Dear Friends and Family,

I am pleased to invite you all to come see me speak in church before I leave on my mission.

Any of you that are a little behind on my life I am, I have been called to labor in the Brazil Salvador Mission. I will be leaving December 11, and going straight to the MTC in San Paulo, Brazil.

I will speak in Sacrament Meeting November 25th @ 9:30 AM, in the Richfield 3rd. Ward 985 S. 400 W.

If you Drive for any distance at all, or are one of my moocher friends from Richfield, than I expect you to come to the Youth Center (91 S. 200W.) after sacrament meeting to join my family for a Thanks Giving Feast.

P.S. if you are truly dying to see me speak and you can not make it to Richfield than I am also talking on November 18 @ 1:00 PM In the OUU 15th ward on the East end of the chapel on 46th street, next to the UV and Dee Events Center.

Hawaii

So basically Hawaii was Amazing!!!!

and I really only reserve that word for special things.

We had tunz of fun playing with sticks

It was a sad and beautiful sight.

And the ship that is in the picture is I think the USS Missouri where the final treaty was signed ending the war between the US and Japan.
So this picture sort of show and the beginning and the end of Americas involvement in such a dark point in histor.

Hawaii

On Friday I am going to Hawaii!!!!
The land of beautiful things.
As in I think that I will come back from Hawaii a more beautiful person than before.
Ok that might not be true, but you never know.
Well that is really all that I have to say, but I am so excited and I am at work and it is just one of those nights that really I don’t think that the girls even need a staff.
But I am not sad, I will just go read now.

Mission

So I just wanted to talk about my mission really fast. I am getting really impatient to just go! I know that it will come fast but sort of not like this past month has not really gone by that fast any way but it will I think I just need to work on staying in the present and working on all the things that I need to before my mission so that I can be practically perfect by the time I go. Ok that is a lie I sort of feel like the more that I am learning the more that I know how truly imperfect I am. But all is well and I know that this is a great opportunity for me to do many many things. Any way I guess that is really all that I wanted to say Have a great day, love you all tunz

Brace Your Face No More!!!!!!

It is truly impossible to describe the tram that one feels by having braces in collage. It is a humiliating experience to have to go from looking older than you are, to all of a sudden being asked if you are still in high school because of your face. Ever picture, every look in the mirror is a horrifying reminder that your face is currently being occupied by a glinting metal contraption. I am shore that this was blown up in my mind but that does not make it any less scaring, your mind is a powerful tool you know.
I can speak so freely now of the experience now that I am proud to say that my face is metal mouth free now.

Ok so I love that school is back and I have a job that I love and that I get to hang out with some of the coolest people on the face of the planet. Last weekend on Friday night I got to see Jason Hulet (I don’t know how he spells his last name) he is the man that came to our high school when I was like a sophomore or something but he did the raptor and we would make fun of that all the time, and he had the biggest mouth of all time, I think he fit both this fits in his moth. Any way I have a picture of him cause it is funny.

They after that we (as in my friends and I) went to my friend Dave’s house so that we could sing and other people could play the piano. It was fun but some of the best things that happened that night were the stupid pictures we were taking and so I say that we get to show a few of those.

The next day I worked a double, which was fun 16 hr. with the girls baby!!!!
In the morning we went to the 29th street waterfall it is beautiful. But really the best part was the girls were willing to run down the mountain with me. Well really we were skipping down the mountain it was so cool I can not even tell you

Then even for the rest of the day all the girls for the most part decided that they were going to all be relatively nice to each other and that the dram in the house was not going to be there it really made for the best day ever!!! I left work that night really know why I do what I do, they are truly such amazing girls and it is sad some of the choices that they have made, but they will make it, and be great.

And this weekend I went to the fall leadership conference at the institute it was truly so wonderful. You would think that I would not be so floored after all these years at to how much the Lord loves me and how much He really know exactly what I need to hear in my life. It is so so so so so so so wonderful.

The Real Story

Ok so that last post was a lie but think that the real one is just as good.

So one Wednesday morning I thought to my self, “self I know that the mission call is not coming today but lets go check any way”
So I went out to the mailbox and there it was a big white envelope from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint and I was so scared to see if my name was on it. Shore enough it was right there, I could have rip it open that moment but instead I ran in side showed it to my sister in law and was like “well see ya latter”, and ran out the door.
I drove to the Bountiful Temple and climbed up on the hill over looking it. There was a wedding going on and I was thinking to my self “self you are not going to be getting married for the next bit cause you have chosen a different way” then my self replied “whoot whoot”
Then I prayed and opened the call.
Then I called my mom, who was waiting for me to call because my sister-in-law had already told her. That is not my favorite part though, when I told my mom, she was like “hold on just a sec.. . . . . PRESIDENT SHE IS GOING TO BRAZIL.” She was yelling across the hall at her work to my stake president. That is a small town for ya! I basically think it is so funny btu I don’t know that any one will share in the joy that I get from that.
Ok well that is really all my story is, some of my favorite parts being that I was all by my self and that there was a wedding going on at the temple and that was the conversation that I had with my self. Well I hope you enjoyed it.

The Most Beautiful Place on Earth

I just want to share with all of you what my mission call said.
Well it started out with the normal suff

I had to search the web to find out where that was. Man who knew that the brethren stated making the mission calls all riddle like.

I leave December 4th and report the 5th to the MTC in San Paulo.

I will be talking in church in Richfield on November 25th at like 10 or something. I don’t know the day is more important for you to know so that you will stay in Richfield after Thanksgiving so that you all can be my friends that can say good job no matter how my talk is, and ps I am singing too so same thing goes you have to tell me that I did well even if I have not.

Dear Friends,

Ok I am lame and I don’t ever post things. Now that we are all in accord I would like to take a little time to post a little something something I like to call, summer time fun. So basically this is a blog to jet you all caught up on what I did for this summer.
This summer started out with the hit sensation “I Hope They Call Me On A Mission, Around The World In 80 Minutes”. I went on tour to western Idaho, Whahoow we are crazy LDS institute students. We got to go and sing in seminaries all over Idaho. That was cool and we sang so much I could hardly speak after, which was a relief for my family.

The next cool thing that I did was I was an EFY counselor for 4 weeks at BYU, Yes I really am that Mormon to do something like that, and love it!!! Whoot Whoot!
I can not really disclose to many picture in fear of losing my job, ha ha I am not working for EFY any more I can do what ever I want they cant tell me what to do, ha!

PS one of the weeks I had 6 girls from Richfield and it was so weird and cool to have girls that hit so close to home, I was them like 4 year ago.

The other really cool things that I have done consisted of things like: getting promoted at my job, working full time, handing in my mission papers, surfing, going one family get aways up in Yellowstone, and this week end I am going to go to Lava Hot Springs with the other side of the family. (I am so glad that I don’t have to care about punctuation cause I know that no one is going to criticize me because you are all so happy that I am writing any thing at all, RIGHT)
